With children, although a parent presents the child for baptism, Baptism itself is God’s gift. We are adopted as God’s children and through baptism we are offered God’s active grace and saving love. To schedule your child’s baptism or baptism for any age please contact the church office. Baptism: You will be asked the three questions listed below (example below is when a child is baptized) and the congregation will respond with their commitment to love and nurture the child.
Communion
Communion: Children are welcome to join their parents at the communion table. Communion is offered on the first Sunday of each month and on other special worship services. In the United Methodist Book of Worship it states, “All who intend to lead a Christian life, together with their children, are invited to receive the bread and the cup.” We remember that when some of Jesus’ disciples tried to keep children away from him that he said: “Let the little children come to me; do not stop them; for it is to such as these that the kingdom of God belongs.” Mark 10:14 Children may not fully comprehend what is going on, but they know when they are excluded. In accordance with the scripture let them come.
